Featured Healthcare Project:
St. Joseph Health - Camino Health Care & Family Resource Center
Lake Forest, CA

This project for Mission Hospital brought together two compatible entities:  The Mission Hospital Family Resource Center (FRC) and the independent Camino Health Center (CHC).  The CHC is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) and the design needed to meet OSHPD 3 requirements.

The 1970’s building had been a distribution center for the Orange County Register.  Our project gutted the building to address mold and asbestos issues.  All new windows were installed to be Low–E energy efficient and meet current California Title 24 requirements.

The 10,000 sf Camino Health Center was designed with 16 medical exam and procedure rooms around a common nurse and doctor Team Based Care hub.  A mini optometry suite and a dental suite with 5 procedure bays was designed in adjacent proximity.  The Women and Infant Care (WIC) program with 5 counselors was also incorporated into the design.

The Family Resource Center design included 9 counseling rooms, two multipurpose classrooms a meditation room and child play/therapy area.  The office space includes not only FRC staff and counselors, but space for the FRC partners and other community groups who provide varying social services to their clients including: education, nutrition programs, computer classes and child and infant care programs
