The design of this medical office needed to incorporate a sensitivity to the philosophy of Feng Shui, creating an effective work flow for the staff combined with a higher end spa-like atmosphere. Doors and room placements were reviewed to enhance good fortune and to ensure that well-being did not flow from those spaces to the exterior. This medical practice combines Eastern and Western medicine offering holistic, herbal, and acupuncture treatments in addition to Western general medical services.
The doctor uses this two story office condo for her practice and wanted to rent out the second floor for added income, therefore a new stand-alone entry would need to be designed and cut into the facade. This required meetings and negotiations with both the developer and the city to achieve.
